Learn to Play
The English Whistle
For Complete Beginners
(Includes Whistle, Book & CD)
This is a very good set for beginners. It covers many aspects of learning to read sheet music and includes many excellent tunes for whistle (see details below).

This is a boxed set including the following:
Walton's
Irish D Whistle - Most traditional Irish music is
written in the key of D or G. This whistle is easy to play in either of these keys. The
whistle is made of brass, and has a plastic fipple (mouthpiece), giving it a bright tone.
It can be made tunable, if desired - see our Make It Tunable Page for more info
on this. Walton's is one of the leading whistle makers in Ireland (they are located in
Dublin) - this whistle is at the top of many traditional Irish Players favorite whistle
list.
Whistle Tutorial/Song Book
- Includes instruction for reading music, correct hand position, breathing,
and many traditional Scottish (and international) tunes.
Fingering positions printed below every note in the
tunes. Instructions are in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish and
Japanese.
CD - The CD includes all
the tunes from the book, played on whistle with accompaniment. A very nice
feature of this CD is that it actually has a 2nd track of each tune - this
2nd track includes the accompaniment, but not the whistle, so you can play
each one "solo", if you'd like.
