From the cover:
125 Traditional session tunes arranged for tinwhistle. Four specially recorded CDs make learning the tunes easy and fun. In standard music notation with chord symbols for guitar or piano.

From the Author (L.E. McCullough):
"Perhaps the most challenging thing to master when learning to play traditional Irish music is the ability to play "in sync" with other musicians. The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tunebook gives you the chance to do exactly that. It is a collection of 125 tunes that you're liable to hear at most traditional Irish music sessions. Once you have these tunes under your belt and in your fingers, you'll be able to sit down with a group of Irish musicians anywhere in the world and play with comfort and confidence."

The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tunebook's 4 CD set is designed for easy learning. A tune is played slowly at first and with minimal ornamentation. The second time through, the tune goes a bit faster and with more ornaments and even some common variations, so you can experience some of the exciting unpredictability of a real session!

As mentioned above, each tune on the CD is played twice - once slowly, then again at full speed. Each version has its own separate track on the CD - all of them give you a "count in" (so that you don't have to guess when the tune is starting). Each tune in the book notes the CD and track numbers of both versions of the tune.

In addition to the 125 tunes, the book also contains:
~ An introduction and a brief discussion of Rolls by L.E. McCullough
~ A brief discussion on "Accompanying Irish Traditional Dance Tunes", by Don Meade
