Hi All,

Just a reminder that there is a Slow Session this coming Saturday (April 16^th) from 10:00am – Noon. We’ll probably pick a new tune or two to work on – we’ve been talking about “Ten Penny Bit” and/or “Kitty’s Wedding”. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know!

Also, here are a few upcoming events that might be of interest to those of you in Central Illinois. Note that these aren’t “shameless plugs” – The Whistle Shop is not profiting at all from the events that we’re selling tickets for; I’m making tickets available for online purchase just as my way of helping to promote Celtic music in Central Illinois.

~ Saturday April 23^rd, 2005 - Tommy Peoples (Fiddler) – Urbana, IL - Tommy Peoples is a great Fiddle player; I highly recommend going to this show. If you’re a Fiddle player, a workshop is also planned. You can purchase tickets for this event online at:

~ Wednesday May 4^th, 2005 – FLOOK! – Urbana, IL – If you’ve never seen Flook, you’re in for a real treat. This group is nothing short of amazing (Brian Finnegan does things on whistle that just don’t seem humanly possible…). To have a chance to see them in an intimate setting like this is truly a rare opportunity! There is a chance that this event might sell out, so I’d recommend getting your tickets ASAP.
