Hi All,
‘Just a quick reminder that we’ll be having our Slow Session at The Whistle Shop this Saturday (June 7th) from 10:00am – Noon.
We were planning on working on some new tunes for this week, but we just didn’t seem to get it together soon enough. Here’s a list of the new tunes that we talked about working on:
~ Dingle Regatta
~ Glass of Beer
~ Hardiman the Fiddler
~ Rolling in the Rye Grass
You can find sheet music for all of these tunes by doing a search at “JC’s TuneFinder”, but there are numerous versions of each tune posted there. Instead of guessing which versions to use, it’ll probably be best to just wait for this Saturday - we’ll have Kevin pick the versions for us to work on for the following Slow Session. Here’s a link to JC’s TuneFinder, if you’d like to take a look at some of the different versions:

As you might have noticed, I posted a new version of “Off to California” at the Slow Session website recently (with Kevin on Flute; me on Guitar and Whistle). We also have new recordings of “Road to Lisdoonvarna” and “The Butterfly”; I just need to add whistle to them before posting them at the website (I’ll probably get this done this weekend). I’ll try to get together with Kevin in the very near future and do recordings of the new tunes also.
I received an email the other day from someone that said when they print some of the sheetmusic that I have posted at the website, it cuts off the right edge of the sheetmusic. If you have this problem also, just set your printer to print in “landscape” mode (so that the sheetmusic prints horizontally on the page). If you still can’t get it to print out correctly, I’ll be happy to print a copy of it for you at the Session on Saturday.
‘See everyone at 10:00 Saturday morning!
