Slow Session update
I’ve posted recordings of the rest of the tunes that we’re currently working on at the Slow Session website:
~ Dingle Regatta
~ Glass of Beer
~ Dan O’Keefe’s Slide
I’ve also corrected the sheetmusic for “Hardiman the Fiddler”. The sheetmusic that was posted at the website previously showed two sharps in the key signature; there should only be one.
Computer Tip:
If you’ve been playing the recordings directly from the website all the time, you’d be much better off saving them to your hard-drive instead. This way you won’t have to wait while the recording downloads every time. The songs will probably also play better for you directly from your hard-drive. You’ll have to save the recordings to your hard-drive if you want to use the Amazing Slow Downer to adjust the speed of the recordings on your own.
Here’s the simplest way to save recordings to your hard-drive (for Windows computers):
1. Go to your computer’s “Desktop” and right-click your mouse anywhere over the background (not over an existing desktop shortcut). From the pop-up menu that appears, choose “New”, then choose “Folder”. Type a name for the folder (something like “Slow Session” - you can always right-click over the folder, then choose “Rename” if you want to change the name later.)
2. Go to the Slow Session website, then right-click your mouse on the link for the recording that you wish to save. From the pop-up menu that appears, choose “Save Target as…” (or “Save Link Target as…”, if you’re using Netscape Navigator).
3. A “Save As” box will appear. Use the drop-down menu at the top of this box to navigate to the Desktop, then choose the folder that you just created to save the recording in. Click the “Save” button.
4. That’s it - you should now be able to play the recordings directly from that folder!
