Slow Session at The Whistle Shop

Hi All,

Just a quick reminder that there’s a Slow Session at The Whistle Shop this coming Saturday (November 20th) from 10:00am – Noon.

At the last Slow Session, we talked about changing how the Slow Session works just a little. Here’s what we’ll try - for the first hour-and-a-half or so, we’ll play at a slower pace (just like we always have). For the last half hour or so, we’ll play tunes “up to speed”.

We have enough tunes now that we’re having trouble getting through them all at every Slow Session. From now on, we’ll just keep track of the ones that we don’t get through and make sure that we play those first at the following Slow Session.

And we should all work on getting rid of the “sheetmusic crutch” on the tunes that we’ve been playing now for a long time! If you’ve been playing these tunes for a while now, but have always used the sheetmusic, try just putting it away – you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised at how many tunes you can actually play without the sheetmusic.

See you all on Saturday!
