The set includes two great whistles - whistles that are not only good for a beginner, but ones that you'll be happy with no matter how advanced your playing becomes. Also included are an excellent Tutorial (with CD), a Tunebook (with a Two CD Set), and (for a limited time) pouches  for each whistle.

Owning at least two whistles is a good idea for a few different reasons. Each whistle has it's own individual voice - you'll find that some tunes sound better using one whistle, while others sound better on a different one. Also, if you're having a specific problem while learning (not being able to hit a certain note for example), having a second whistle helps you to decide if the problem is whistle-related or if it's just something that you have to work on a little more.

It plays beautifully in both octaves, has good volume and a very nice tone.
     

  • 1 - Clarke Sweetone Whistle (Key of D) ~ While there are many fine whistles for a beginner, we believe that the Clarke Sweetone is probably just about the best. It plays very easily, and has a nice, round tone.

  • 1 - Complete Irish Tin Whistle (Book) ~ 144 Pages, by Mizzy McCaskill & Dona Gilliam. Probably one of the most extensive tutorials for learning all aspects of playing whistles, including detailed instruction for Slides, Cuts, Double Grace Notes, Triple Grace Notes, Triplets, Rolls, Bends, and much more!
  • 1 - Complete Irish Tin Whistle (CD) ~ To complement the book described above. The CD includes tunes from the book, and is a joy to listen to even when you're not playing along.
  • 1 - Ireland's Best Session Tunes, Vol. 1 (Book) ~ This book contains 110 traditional whistles tunes.
